Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Seven Sorrows of the Mother of God is a prayer that visits each of the sorrows that pierced Our Blessed Lady’s Heart as Simeon predicted when Mary and Joseph presented their son, Jesus, at the Temple. This recording contains a bit more than just announcing each mystery. Using Eddie Doherty’s meditations from his book “Splendor of Sorrow” we enter into each mystery. We see Mary and Joseph and Jesus and experience their pain. The “sinner” and the saints bring these events to life so we feel we are there with the Holy Family each step of the way.

First Sorrow – The Prophesy of Simeon (20:35)

Second Sorrow – The Flight into Egypt (28:00)

Third Sorrow – The Loss of Jesus in the Temple (30:58)

Fourth Sorrow – Mary Meets Jesus on His Way to Calvary (23:00)

Fifth Sorrow – Mary Stands at the Foot of the Cross

Sixth Sorrow – Jesus is Taken Down From the Cross

Seventh Sorrow – The Burial of Jesus
